SSDEC Recognizes Susan Smith with the 2026 Educator Award

The South Slave Divisional Education Council is pleased to recognize Susan Smith of Paul William Kaeser High School as the recipient of the 2026 Educator Award.

The award recognizes an educator whose dedication, compassion and commitment have a meaningful impact on students and their success.

Susan has served at Paul William Kaeser High School for 25 years and is known as a dedicated advocate for the students she supports. She works to ensure students’ needs are understood and addressed, particularly when they are facing significant personal or life challenges.

Throughout her years at PWK, Susan has built strong relationships with students, families and colleagues. Her patience, compassion and commitment to helping students overcome barriers have made her a trusted and highly respected member of the school community.

Her long-standing service and dedication reflect the kind of care and advocacy that can make a lasting difference in a student’s life.
